100 booths participate in Food Expo

4 October 2024

KOTA KINABALU: The inaugural Tastefully Food Expo is being held at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) from October 4 to 6.

Organised by Tastefully Malaysia, this three-day event is poised to be Malaysia's largest food extravaganza, showcasing the vibrant culinary landscape of Sabah.

Tastefully Malaysia is dedicated to assisting brand owners in managing their product marketing through innovative campaigns, interactive activities, and strategic advertising, leveraging unified selling channels and partnerships.

The expo to be held from from 10am to 9pm features over 100 booths representing more than 200 brands, offering visitors an opportunity to indulge in a diverse array of cuisines, from local delicacies to international flavours, all under one roof.

Attendees can look forward to a sensory feast, complete with delectable dishes, cooking demonstrations, interactive workshops, and exciting food competitions.

A highlight of the event is the Pastry and Cocoa Festival, organised by the Malaysian Cocoa Board, the principal partner of the expo.

This festival will showcase innovative chocolate-based pastries and desserts, emphasising the versatility and richness of Malaysian cocoa, a key commodity in Sabah, which ranks fifth in the world and second in Asia.

In addition to cocoa, the expo will promote a variety of health-focused food products, including seaweed jelly, chocolate-based items, oats, avocado drinks, and more.

The event has been officiated by Datuk Seri Panglima Dr. Jeffrey G. Kitingan, Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industries of Sabah, represented by Leonard Poyong, the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary.

Tastefully Malaysia is represented by Jin Lee, its Business Development Director, and Event Director Esther Fong.
