KOTA BELUD; Kg Kelawat Pangi Kota Belud under Kadamaian Constituency is a typical rural village where the populace are mostly rubber tappers.

This village with its 400-strong inhabitants live together in a peaceful and harmonious environment.

They are however affected by elements and development such as the construction of the Pan Borneo highway and the rain impedes rubber tappers.

Be that as it may, they celebrate life with joyous events in their community halls.

One of the amenities they need is a canopy for such gatherings and other events.

Village Security and Development (JKKK) Chairman Jesoli Mossinggin said the donation of a canopy from the Kadamaian Assemblyman Datuk Ewon Benedick was timely as it was used almost immediately for a wedding.

"We are indeed grateful to Datuk for this donation. We had asked for two but we only got one," he said adding that he was sure the State Assemblyman's generosity would extend to them again in the future

He believes that Datuk Ewon will not let them down in terms of development.

The Merry-makers.

"I'm sure he knows all about our needs and predicaments such as road upgrades to mitigate floods in our village among many others," he said adding that he understands the monumental task of taking care of all the villages in Kadamaian Constituency.

"To us, he is easy to approach and communicate with. He always comes to meet us as a friend would. He has that certain unifying quality that earns him our respect," he stresses

"We thank him for his constant support to us."

Datuk Ewon Benedick is also the Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperative.
