A Strategic Partnership for Advancing Sabah's OGSE Sector

KOTA KINABALU: Redwin Orchard Sendirian Berhad (ROSB) and Persafe Engineering Sendirian Berhad (PERSAFE) have forged a strategic partnership to propel Sabah's Oil and Gas Services and Equipment (OGSE) sector to new heights.


The collaboration was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed at the Hibiscus Room at the International Technology and Commercial Centre (ITCC) Penampang, signifying a landmark moment for both companies and the OGSE industry in Sabah.


Under this strategic alliance, the two industry leaders will pool their expertise to execute critical projects within PETRONAS' Oil & Gas and Petrochemical plants and facilities in Sabah.


The scope of collaboration includes

storage tank cleaning, repair and maintenance, construction of tank farms,

plant maintenance, shutdowns, and turnarounds, scaffolding services, blasting and painting operations


The signing ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including SMJ Energy Sdn Bhd’s Vice President of Government Affairs and Special Projects, Mr. Allen Chia; PETRONAS Procurement Liaison (Sabah), Ahmad Aminuddin B. Hamzah; SOGSC Deputy President, Francis Jepiuh; KCCI President, Datuk Ladislaus Maluda; and representatives from SOGSC, ROSB, and PERSAFE.


Dr. Edwin Richard Sumpong, Managing Director of ROSB, expressed his optimism about the partnership.


"This collaboration is more than a business venture; it’s a transformative step toward addressing industry challenges and leveraging emerging opportunities. Together, we aim to make a profound impact on Sabah’s energy landscape and the OGSE sector."


Mr. Peru Balan Ding, Managing Director of PERSAFE, highlighted the broader implications of the MOU, stating :


"This partnership symbolizes a shared commitment to innovation, growth, and sustainability. By uniting our capabilities, we aim to drive meaningful progress in Sabah’s OGSE sector while creating new opportunities for local talent and businesses."


SOGSC Deputy President, Francis Jepiuh, encouraged both companies to actively pursue eligible projects under this partnership.


He also extended his gratitude to SMJ Energy and PETRONAS for their unwavering support in enhancing Sabahan participation in the local OGSE industry.


This partnership sets the stage for a more dynamic and competitive OGSE ecosystem in Sabah, reinforcing the state’s position as a vital contributor to Malaysia’s energy sector.
