PENAMPANG: Participants at the Amanah Ikhtiar (AIM) Block Dongonggon Family Day, held at Gawir Hall in Kampung Madsiang today, were filled with enthusiasm and inspiration by the presence of Datuk Ewon Benedick, the Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (MEDC).

The Minister, who was there to launch the event, received a warm round of applause when he announced that he would be inviting the committee members from the three AIM blocks in Penampang to his office for discussions.

"There are three AIM blocks in Penampang: Dongongon, Bundusan, and Putatan," he remarked. "I would like to invite the committees from all three blocks to visit my office in the future. Next year, with parliamentary allocation, we will provide funding to support various activities for each of these blocks. This initiative reflects my commitment to and appreciation for AIM in Malaysia, particularly for the three blocks mentioned."

Florence Minol, a resident of Kg. Togudon leads a group of 30 eager individuals seeking new opportunities. She expressed her excitement about the potential for more planned activities, believing these initiatives will be highly beneficial for their community, especially in providing avenues for selling their goods.

Florence emphasised that this support goes beyond mere financial assistance; it serves as a vital source of encouragement for vendors who have begun their entrepreneurial journeys with the help of a basic loan from AIM.

"Our group is composed of members from two neighbouring villages, mainly Kg. Tudan and Togudon. We are primarily based at Pusat Pisompuruan Togudon," she shared.

She believes that expanding their activities will not only increase their income but also foster a stronger sense of community among members as they work collaboratively towards common goals.

Diana Murin, a dedicated participant from the Dongonggon block, is leader to a group of 30 enthusiastic members from the Sri Babagon Centre. Expressing her joy at the event, she stated, "I am truly happy to meet all the members of Block Dongonggon. May we be motivated to move forward together as members of the Amanah Ikhtiar community in 2025."

Another participant, Mickey Banus from the Sri Kibunut Centre, shared her excitement about the event. "This is my first time participating, and I am incredibly excited. I didn’t realize it would be this thrilling and merry!" she exclaimed. Mickey also expressed her hope for more events like this in the future, highlighting the importance of community spirit, connections, and lucrative business ventures.

All participants conveyed their heartfelt appreciation to Ewon for his presence and encouragement, emphasising that the Minister truly cares about supporting the community.

The event also featured a variety of engaging activities, including a lucky draw, further enhancing the festive atmosphere of the day.
