KOTA KINABALU: The Youth Chief of the Sabah People's Gagasan Party (Gagasan Rakyat) for the Darau division, Abqaree Fawwaz Abekan, has filed a police report in response to a TikTok video posted by a 'Sabahan' that alleges he misused public funds for the benefit of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS).

Speaking to the media, Abqaree explained that he visited the Kota Kinabalu Police Station to formally deny the circulating allegations.

"We are here to file a report to refute these accusations and to clear my name as well as that of the party," he stated.

"These allegations are malicious and represent a form of harassment aimed at damaging our reputation as leaders within our community and party," he added.

Also present were members of the leadership team from the Darau division's Youth Gagasan Rakyat.

Abqaree added that the report has been completed, and they will fully leave the follow-up actions to the police to investigate the individual spreading the slander.

"God willing, we will also continue our actions to report this matter to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC)," he explained.

In the video, in addition to Abqaree, the Deputy Chief of the Central Youth Gagasan Rakyat, Azrul Ibrahim, was also falsely accused of misusing public funds for the benefit of GRS.
