CHINESE NEW YEAR CELEBRATION WITH TANJUNG ARU COMMUNITY

KOTA KINABALU: The United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (UPKO) Kota Kinabalu invites the public to join the Chinese New Year Celebration with the Tanjung Aru Community on February 16.

The event, which runs from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM, will take place in Pekan Tanjung Aru and feature various exciting activities.

UPKO Kota Kinabalu Division Chief, Dennison R Indang, stated that this vibrant celebration will be officiated by the Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, Datuk Ewon Benedick.

He explained that the celebration aims not only to commemorate the Chinese New Year but also to strengthen unity and harmony among Sabah’s multicultural society.

“There will be various exciting activities for visitors, including cultural performances and Lion and Dragon dances.

“We are also setting up food stalls offering a variety of local delicacies and traditional Chinese cuisine.

“This celebration not only promises entertainment and fun but also serves as an excellent platform to bring people from different backgrounds together in unity and harmony,” he said when contacted today.

He added that UPKO Kota Kinabalu welcomes people from all walks of life to join in the festivities with joy and excitement.

Meanwhile, Dennison mentioned that the event will also feature a lucky draw offering special prizes, including a motorcycle, along with guest artist performances and a magic show.
