Christmas Celebration 2024 : Overcoming Challenges Towards Success

SANDAKAN: The Sandakan Christmas Celebration 2024 was launched with great enthusiasm, drawing a large crowd anticipating the festive season, set to be celebrated on December 25.
The event was officiated by the Tanjong Papat Assemblyman and Chairman of Sabah Development Berhad (SDB), Datuk Frankie Poon Ming Fung.
Held at the Activity Hall of Sekolah Menengah Jenis Kebangsaan Tiong Hua, Sandakan, on Sunday evening, the celebration carried the theme "In Times Like These."
The ceremony saw the attendance of Sandakan Member of Parliament Vivian Wong Shir Yee, Bishop of the Sabah Diocese and Chairman of the Sabah Council of Churches Datuk Melter Jiki Tais, Chairman of Sandakan Inter-Church Archdeacon Lidis Singkung, Sandakan Municipal Council President Henry Idol, Karamunting Community Development Leader Datuk Chew Kok Woh, as well as priests, pastors, and other attendees from across Sandakan.
In his speech, Frankie highlighted that any challenge could be overcome with a steadfast determination to succeed.
He emphasized that despair should never deter efforts to achieve success. Instead, with prayer and hope, excellence is attainable.
In a related note, Frankie stressed the importance of inclusivity during festive celebrations, stating that those less fortunate should not be forgotten or left behind.
"They must be supported so that they too can celebrate this joyous occasion together with others," he said.
