COVID-19: 443 NEW CASES IN SABAH

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah continues to record the highest number of positive Covid-19 cases at 443 out of 660 new nationwide cases today.


Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said, this brings the total number of positive Covid-19 cases in Malaysia to 16,880 cases.


“Of a total of 443 new positive cases reported in Sabah, 162 cases were recorded from close contact tracing, 38 from existing active clusters and the rest from new clusters, namely Semarak Cluster, Bina Cluster, Sabindo Cluster and Smart Cluster.


“Meanwhile, a total of 76 cases were recorded in Selangor, 60 cases in Kedah, 23 in Penang, 18 in Labuan, 16 in Perak, 10 in Johor, nine in Kuala Lumpur, two in Negeri Sembilan and one in Pahang one," he said in a virtual press conference on the development of Covid-19, Tuesday.


Noor Hisham added that out of the total number of positive cases, 658 cases were local infections involving 618 locals and 40 non-citizens, while two more cases were imported transmissions.
