COVID-19: SABAH RECORDS 180 NEW CASES, TWO DEATHS

By Wartawan Nabalu News KOTA KINABALU: Sabah today registered a total of 180 Covid-19 positive cases, bringing the cumulative number of the total statewide infections to 50,723. Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said, two more deaths were also recorded today each in Kota Kinabalu and Kota Belud. He added of the total 126 cases stemmed from close contact screening, screening of individuals screening identified 18 cases, 12 cases from new and existing clusters, nine from Socso screening and 15 from other categories.
Tawau recorded the highest number of new cases with 24 cases, followed by Keningau (21), Kota Kinabalu (16), Lahad Datu and Tuaran (15), Putatan (13), Papar (12), Kinabatangan and Kunak (11), Penampang, Sandakan and Telupid (nine), Kalabakan, Tenom and Semporna (three), Beluran and Kudat (two), Kota Belud and Tongod only recorded one cases each.. Meanwhile, Nabawan, Kota Marudu, Ranau, Sipitang, Kuala Penyu, Beaufort, Tambunan and Pitas did not report any case. "A total of 317 patients have recovered from Covid-19, bringing the cumulative total of recoveries to 48,360" he said during a press conference here, today. Masidi added that a total of 1,420 patients are still receiving treatment where 557 are treated in the hospitals, 861 in the Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centre, and two in temporary detention centres. "The total number of Covid-19 patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) is 70 and 22 are ventilated," he stated. Unfortunately, one new cluster (Hulu Jerocco cluster) in Kinabatangan, with nine new positive cases was recorded today.
