COVID-19: SABAH RECORDS 63 NEW CASES, ONE DEATH

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah recorded 63 new Covid-19 cases today, bringing the cumulative total of statewide infections to 54,916.
Of the total, 18 was identified from close contacts, 12 from symptomatic screening and 28 from existing clusters and five from other categories.
However, Local Government and Housing Datuk Masidi Manjun said one death related to the virus was also recorded today.
Tawau reported the highest number of new cases with 17, followed by Kota Kinabalu (14), Keningau (13), Lahad Datu (four), Kinabatangan, Kunak and Nabawan (three), Sandakan and Tenom (two), and Tuaran and Kota Marudu each with one case.
Aside from the green zone districts such as Ranau, Pitas, Kuala Penyu and Tongod, other districts that did not record any new cases are Penampang, Kalabakan, Putatan, Kota Belud, Papar, Kudat, Tambunan, Beaufort, Semporna, Sipitang, Beluran, and Telupid.
"The number of active cases now stands at 466 with 185 of the patients at the hospitals, including 25 in the intensive care unit with 13 of them ventilated, and 258 in the quarantine and low risk treatment centres.
"The cumulative total of recoveries in Sabah is 54,034 to date, including an addition of 43 recoveries reported today," he said.
