PENAMPANG: Nestled amidst the picturesque landscape of Kg Kibunut Penampang, the Crystal Bridge Farm stood as a resilient oasis, untouched by the recent floods that wreaked havoc in the region. Simon Boyou, the proprietor of this haven, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the preservation of their property and the absence of any losses caused by the deluge.

As the floodwaters cascaded down from the mountains, an initial sense of dread and danger washed over the farm. The sheer force and intensity of the torrential downpour seemed daunting, but to their relief, the waters gradually receded as the rain subsided.

Simon said, “Flooding is an uncommon occurrence in the mountainous area, with our primary concern being the possibility of landslides. We experienced one in the lower region of the mountain, which had been promptly cleared, ensuring that the farm is safely accessible to our valued guests.”

Despite their good fortune, Simon acknowledged the impact of the flood on the surrounding community. The apprehension and fear that gripped the public were palpable, leading to a significant number of cancellations for the upcoming weekend.

He empathised with their concerns, recognising that social media platforms showcased the devastating consequences of the flood, amplifying the worries that potential visitors might harbor.

Nonetheless, Simon understood the gravity of the situation and the weight of the visual evidence presented through social media. The images and videos circulating online vividly portrayed the severity of the flood, serving as a reminder of the destructive power unleashed by nature.

In the wake of the flood, the Crystal Bridge Farm remained unscathed, its serene atmosphere and natural beauty beckoning to those seeking solace amidst the chaos. Simon's gratitude for their fortunate circumstances matched his empathy for the community badly affected by the disaster.

The Farm is nestled within its sprawling 24-acre expanse, and proudly boasts a rich variety of fruit trees, immersing visitors in a verdant tapestry of nature's bounty. Providing an idyllic and tranquil setting, the farm features two guest houses, each comprising three cozy rooms, as well as three single bedrooms for those seeking a comfortable overnight stay. For those who prefer not to spend the night, the farm warmly welcomes them to revel in the beauty of their surroundings for a small fee, allowing access to the shaded areas and inviting pool.

The farm offers a haven for families, providing ample opportunities to create lasting memories and adventurous spirits can embark on a journey of exploration, discovering the nearby river and engaging in nature's embrace. Those seeking respite from the everyday hustle and bustle can partake in leisurely activities within the compound, such as luxuriating in a refreshing dip in one of the inviting pools.

Beyond the tranquility and natural beauty, the farm is a versatile venue for social gatherings and camping experiences. Simon enthusiastically shared that the farm can accommodate approximately 200 individuals at any given time, both indoors and outdoors. Whether it be a joyous celebration or an intimate gathering, the farm offers a space where shared moments can be cherished amidst the embrace of nature. -ends
