KOTA KINABALU: Over 200 individuals, including senior citizens and children, have benefited from a recent Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme organised by the Sabah Women Entrepreneurs and Professionals Association (SWEPA) in partnership with Cititel Express Kota Kinabalu, Sabah Credit Corporation, Eyesscience Optometrist & Children Vision Centre, and Ophelia Hearing Specialist.

Karen Wong, the President of SWEPA, stated that the aim of the free "Eye and Ear Screening Project" was to enhance the well-being of the community by improving vision for those in need, aligning with each organisation's commitment to serving the Sabah community.

"This Members CSR initiative exemplifies SWEPA's unwavering dedication to improving healthcare accessibility, particularly for underserved populations," she commented.

Event Organising Chairperson Betty Epin, who also serves as the Community Director for the SWEPA Members CSR programme, expressed her gratitude to Cititel Express Kota Kinabalu and Sabah Credit Corporation for generously sponsoring the venue and refreshments for the participants, respectively.

In addition to participating in informative talks presented by two volunteer specialists, optometrist Carl Eddison from Eyesscience Optometrist & Children Vision Centre and audiologist Ophelia Domingo from Ophelia Hearing Specialist Centre, attendees underwent comprehensive eye and ear screenings.

"Eighty participants who meet the eligibility criteria will receive free reading glasses from SWEPA as part of this CSR initiative on 10 May," Epin noted, adding that referrals would be provided for those requiring further healthcare services.

SWEPA is an award-winning organisation dedicated to empowering women and enhancing community well-being in Sabah through various initiatives and strategic partnerships.
