Cultural Hall Officially Opened

RANAU :The Mukim Timbua Cultural Hall was officially opened by Deputy Chief Minister II and Member of the State Assembly (ADUN) for Kundasang, Datuk Seri Dr. Joachim Gunsalam.
Dr. Joachim highlighted that the Cultural Hall would facilitate the management of customary cases in Mukim Timbua, significantly reducing the burden on residents who previously had to travel to Pekan Ranau to resolve their issues.
"This Cultural Hall will also serve as a venue for discussing various matters, save transportation costs to the Native Court in Pekan Ranau, and function as a repository for customary books and studies on customary law for both present and future generations," stated Dr. Joachim, who also serves as the Minister of Local Government and Housing.
He extended his congratulations to the organizing chairman, village head Saukin Sama, and the customary leaders for their dedication and successful execution of the program.
Additionally, he expressed gratitude to the customary leaders who continue to uphold traditions within the Mukim Timbua community, which consists of 14 villages.
The Kundasang constituency, which encompasses 100 villages, will continue to receive government support to meet the needs of its residents.
Dr. Joachim directed the Native Court (MAN) to ensure that villages in need of a Cultural Hall receive appropriate attention.
He also encouraged the customary leaders to maintain their support for the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) government under the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Haji Hajiji Haji Noor.
The inauguration event included the opening of the Mukim Timbua Hall and the distribution of food baskets to local residents.
In attendance were Dr. Joachim's Political Secretary, Yubidi Gumpoyo; District Chiefs OKK Muhasip Haji Ruman and OKK Dominic Ghanie; Community Leader Officer for the Kundasang constituency, Dounis Sani; as well as representatives from the Native Chiefs, village heads, and leaders from the Karanaan constituency.
They all expressed their commitment to collaborating across various areas, setting aside political and religious differences for the greater well-being of the community.
