KOTA BELUD: Daradaat View eco-tourism is sited in Kampung Ratau just 11 kilometres from Kota Belud, township.

This place offers a unique blend of natural beauty and recreational activities centered around the stunning Kadamaian River.

Nestled along the banks of the pristine river, Daradarat View offers an idyllic escape for city dwellers seeking tranquility and natural beauty.

This eco-tourism site boasts breathtaking views of the majestic Mount Kinabalu, its towering peaks often shrouded in a gentle mist, creating a picturesque backdrop that captivates visitors. Photography buffs will enjoy the sights unveiled in this picturesque area.

The river, with its sparkling clear waters, invites guests to unwind and immerse themselves in the soothing sounds of nature.

The flow of the water, combined with the surrounding trees, creates a serene ambiance that encourages relaxation and reflection.

Visitors can find comfortable seating areas along the riverbank, where they can sit back, breathe in the fresh air, and enjoy the stunning scenery.

Eluin Sabin, the site operator shares, “Our offerings include spacious accommodations, such as a large hut that can comfortably host up to 10 guests, as well as a guesthouse for additional lodging options. For those who prefer a more adventurous experience, camping facilities are also available.”

“Since our inception in 2019, we have faced challenges, including a temporary closure during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. However, we successfully reopened our doors in 2021 and have since welcomed numerous visitors to our one-acre site. We are excited to announce plans for future development, including fruit tourism, taking advantage of the fertile land surrounding our area.”

“Our facility can accommodate over 300 guests at a time, making it an ideal location for recreational activities and team-building events. We also offer ATV rentals for those seeking an exhilarating ride through the scenic landscape,” he shares.

“At Daradaat View, we operate under an eco-tourism model that emphasises the preservation of nature. We are committed to maintaining cleanliness in our surroundings and are actively working to improve our waste disposal systems. While our current waste management practices are still evolving, we prioritise environmental responsibility.”

According to him, as the site is by the river, visitors’ safety is paramount to them. They closely monitor river conditions, particularly during inclement weather. In the event of high-water levels due to flooding or rain, swimming will be prohibited to ensure the safety of guests. Their team is committed to ensuring a safe environment for visitors through continuous manual surveillance, operating 24 hours a day.

“Looking ahead, we aim to enhance our services and provide an even more enriching experience for our guests. We aspire for Daradaat View to gain recognition among a broader audience. While we currently do not offer cultural performances, we have plans to incorporate them in the future.”

This family-owned venture is committed to growth, and they are exploring the establishment of a cooperative to further their venture.

“We hope that the upcoming Visit Malaysia Year 2025 will benefit us in the rural area. We invite everyone to visit Daradaat View and experience the beauty and adventure that awaits. For more information, please visit our Facebook page and contact us directly.”
