KOTA KINABALU: The Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Environment has approved a grant of RM90,000 for the renovation of Dewan Tadika Chung Hwa Penampang.

Minister Datuk Seri Christina Liew announced this approval during a courtesy visit on Tuesday by a delegation from the kindergarten, led by Board of Governors Chairman Fong Tet Yee.

"We are pleased to approve your application for funding to restore the Tadika Chung Hwa Penampang Hall," Christina stated to the delegation.

During the meeting, Fong briefed the Minister on the hall's deteriorating condition, noting that many of the facilities and equipment have suffered from prolonged wear and tear.

"This pre-school institution has served our community for the past 24 years under the aegis of the Kota Kinabalu Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry. We aim to complete the repair work promptly to ensure the safety and comfort of our pupils," he said.

Fong also expressed gratitude on behalf of the Board of Governors for the Ministry’s support and quick action.

In addition, Fong took the opportunity to invite the Minister to attend the Tadika Chung Hwa Penampang's Chinese New Year celebration on January 11, 2025, which will take place at Hakka Hall at 10 AM.

Present at the meeting were the Ministry's Permanent Secretary Datuk Josie Lai, Principal Lee Chee Len, Kindergarten Supervisor Wong Shou Yung, and Christopher Yong, Chairman of the Kindergarten Bazaar Organising Committee.
