KOTA KINABALU: The implementation of digitalization for e-Invoice and e-Payment to enhance management efficiency in condominiums, apartments, and flats is a significant step forward, said Deputy Chief Minister II, Datuk Seri Dr. Joachim Gunsalam.

He also congratulated organizations and corporations such as Taylor Hobbs, the Chairman of the Kota Kinabalu High School (KKHS) Board of Directors, the Management Corporation of Taman Bakti Ikhlas, and the Management Corporation of Beverly Hills Plaza ‘B’ for becoming new partners and existing collaborators with GoNet.

"This collaboration is a prime example of how the private sector can work together to bring about positive change. I hope more parties will get involved in such digitalization initiatives," he said.

Dr. Joachim also praised GoNet, a local Sabah company that has been operating for over three years and holds an e-Wallet license regulated by Bank Negara Malaysia.

"With GoNet's experience, I am confident that this application will continue to offer various digital conveniences at users' fingertips in the future," he said.

He made these remarks during the Signing Ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding and Service Agreement with new partners and officiating the launch of the e-Invoice system through the GoNet application here today.

Dr. Joachim explained that starting from July 1, 2025, the Government will fully implement the use of e-Invoices to replace paper and electronic documents such as PDF, JPEG, and DOC formats. This initiative will be applied to all transactions between sellers and buyers, including property management.

"The implementation of e-Invoices will enhance efficiency and streamline the business operations of taxpayers, as well as improve tax compliance levels," he said.

He also listed several key benefits of e-invoicing, including reducing manual processes and errors; facilitating the submission of actual forms; increasing operational efficiency; and digitising tax and financial reporting.

"This modern technology is a starting point for significant change in our state. The public will enjoy more efficient services, as well as time and cost savings," he stated.

Dr. Joachim is also confident that this initiative will act as a catalyst for more innovations in the future, proving that Sabah can compete with other states in the era of globalization.

"I believe that the collaboration of all parties will bring great benefits to us all, building a smarter, sustainable, and innovative future," he said.
