Dr. Joachim's walkabout in conjunction with Chinese New Year

SANDAKAN:The President of Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) and also the Deputy Chief Minister II, Datuk Seri Dr. Joachim Gunsalam, participated in a "walkabout" program in conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year celebrations here today.
This PBS "walkabout" program was co-organised by three division leaders: PBS Tanjong Papat Division led by David Ong, PBS Karamunting Division led by David Fong, and PBS Elopura Division led by Datuk Linda Tsen, who is also a member of the PBS Supreme Council.
Dr. Joachim, along with all those involved in the program, visited three main locations: the Ramai City Market, Mawar Park Market, and Kim Fung Market.
During the visit, Dr. Joachim engaged with the Chinese community who were conducting business and the visitors at these markets.
He also expressed gratitude to all the attending PBS members and appreciated the commitment of the division leaders who made this program a success.
“Every year leading up to the Chinese New Year, we hold programs like this. Tomorrow, a similar program will take place in Kota Kinabalu,” said the Minister of Local Government and Housing.
In addition to engaging with the traders, Dr. Joachim also distributed mandarin oranges and Chinese New Year calendars to the visitors.
Also present at the program were the Deputy President of PBS, Datuk Seri Dr. Yee Moh Chai; PBS Treasurer, Datuk Lu Kim Yen; Vice President, Datuk Hendrus Anding; Assistant Secretary General, Datuk Jonnybone Kurum; PBS Youth Chief, Christoper Mandut; friends from the Sabah People's Alliance, as well as the division leaders of PBS.
PBS also took this opportunity to wish a Happy Chinese New Year to the entire Chinese community in Sabah and wherever they may be.
