Establishment of a Police Station in Kaingaran Appreciated

RANAU: The Deputy Chief Minister and Member of the State Assembly (ADUN) for Kundasang, Datuk Seri Dr. Joachim Gunsalam, expressed full support for the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) initiative to establish a police station in Mukim Kaingaran.
He stated that this effort is an important step in curbing unhealthy activities and ensuring continuous public order.
"Even though the crime rate here is low, the presence of a police station is still necessary to maintain a peaceful and safe environment," he said while attending the Community Policing Crime Prevention Carnival organized by PDRM Sabah at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Kaingaran. The programme took place over two days, starting from November 29.
Dr. Joachim also expressed appreciation to PDRM for choosing Kaingaran as the location for this year's carnival.
He thanked all government agencies that participated in the program through organised exhibitions.
"This is not the first time such a programme has been held. Previously, a similar carnival was conducted on Banggi Island," he said.
In other developments, Dr. Joachim, who is also the Minister of Local Government and Housing, stated that the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) government has recorded many positive achievements in various aspects.
He explained that among the successes of the GRS government include increasing the State Government's cash reserves to RM8.6 billion; setting conditions for investors to ensure that 80 percent of job opportunities are given to local residents; and providing various special assistance to the people.
"The government is currently working to eradicate extreme poverty among the people," he said.
Dr. Joachim also urged the residents of Mukim Kaingaran to continue supporting the GRS candidates in the upcoming State Election (PRN) for the continuity of the development that has been implemented.
Also present at the event were the Sabah Police Commissioner, CP Datuk Jauteh Dikun; the Head of the Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department of the Sabah Contingent and Chairman of the Mukim Kaingaran Community Policing Crime Prevention Carnival, SAC Datuk Mohd. Azhar Hamin; representatives of Parliament and ADUN; Dr. Joachim's Political Secretary, Yubidi Gompoyo; District Officer of Ranau, Tinus Manggam; Executive Officer of the Ranau District Council, Elmer Endra M. Sator; Community Development Leaders (PPM) of Kundasang, Dounis Sani, heads of state and federal government agencies; and village heads.
Dr. Joachim, along with his wife, Datin Seri Linda Ewit, also presented cash contributions totaling RM41,000 to 41 churches for the upcoming Christmas celebration this December and distributed 200 food basket assistance to the elderly.
