Ewon committed to fulfilling the Kadamaian Development Plan

30 December 2024

KOTA BELUD: The Kadamaian State Assemblyman Datuk Ewon Benedick is committed to continuing his leadership in the Kadamaian area and fulfilling the Kadamaian Development Plan.

As the Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, he stated that his vision as the Kadamaian State Assemblyman is to develop the region based on two main economic sectors: agriculture and tourism, as well as the provision and upgrading of basic infrastructure facilities, alongside village entrepreneurship.

"Therefore, the Kadamaian Development Plan 2020–2035, which was developed from the aspirations of the Kadamaian community, will serve as a reference for all ministries, agencies, and government departments to bring more rapid and systematic development to this area.

"Under this plan, several projects and initiatives such as the Village Tamu Project and the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) Friendly Homes Project have been implemented through the tireless efforts of various parties, ultimately benefiting the local residents.

"Thank you to everyone involved in successfully executing this development plan, which brings positive changes to the local community," he said.

He said this during the MADANI KUSKOP Community Engagement Programme with the Community, held in conjunction with the Christmas Open House at the Kadamaian Square Hall today.

The event was officiated by the Chief Minister of Sabah, Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor.

Ewon expressed hope that all the needs and priorities of the people of Kadamaian, which have been included in the Kadamaian Development Plan 2020-2025, can be successfully implemented.

Speaking to reporters, Ewon expressed his appreciation for the consideration and subsequent approval announced by the Chief Minister in his speech at the event regarding the requests of the Kadamaian people.

"I appreciate the consideration and subsequent approval from the Chief Minister to continue upgrading the rural economic area or the Kadamaian Tamu center in Taginambur with an allocation of RM1 million.

"We will build a larger parking area in this location and also construct roofs over parts of this area that currently have none, to provide comfort for the mothers who sell here. This request comes from the mothers selling in this area.

"Meanwhile, RM500,000 is allocated for the construction of a community hall in Kampung Tambulaung, since this area used to belong to them but was handed over to the Kota Belud District Council.

"When they wish to use it, they have to pay rent. This is why their request deserves attention as a form of contribution or goodwill for handing over this area to be developed as a Tamu area," he stated.

Regarding the event, Ewon expressed hope that gatherings like this could further strengthen bonds and enhance rapport, friendship, unity, and solidarity among the people of diverse races and religions.
