PENAMPANG: Losing someone important in life, especially a father, at a very young age is one of the hardest things to experience in life.
Datuk Ewon Benedick has to go through this experience after he lost his father when he was only six years old.
"My father died when I was six years old," said the eldest of two siblings.
The Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate for the Penampang parliamentary seat said that he and his mother would spend their time every year visiting his father's grave at the Dungkahang Christian Cemetery here.
"After the death of my father, we returned to my mother's hometown in Kg. Kiau Taburi, Kota Belud," he said.
Ewon was born in his late father's house in Kg Penampang Proper in 1983 and grew up in Penampang until his father's departure.
He then went to SK. Kiau, SMK Bundu Tuhan and SM St. Micheal Penampang (Form 4 and 5).
After that, he continued his studies in Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka taking Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (Software Development).
Ewon who is also the Vice President of the United Kinabalu Progressive Organization (UPKO) said that the difficulties in his childhood made him more resilient and tenacious in facing various challenges in life.
