Five Sabah students receive BKNS for overseas study

KOTA KINABALU: Five students from Sabah have received offers for the Sabah State Government Scholarship (BKNS) for overseas study today.
The Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor, presented the Sabah State Government Scholarship (BKNS) offers to the five students concerned.
The students receiving the prestigious scholarships are, Allen Martin Jumin who will be pursuing a degree in Medicine at University College Dublin, Ireland while Brenda Chan Yi Lin is enrolled in the Biochemistry programme at the University of Manchester, United Kingdom (UK).
The third recipient is Muhammad Iezhanuddin Ramlin who will be studying Computer Science at Northumbria University, UK.
The fourth recipient is Meagan Chin Min Gen who will be attending Cardiff University, UK, for her studies in Law and the fifth recipient is Nurul Sabrina Mohd Zakir who is enrolled in the Veterinary Medicine program at Universitas Airlangga in Surabaya, Indonesia.
The BKNS for Overseas Study is offered to Sabahans who achieve excellent results to continue their studies abroad.
Also present were the State Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation, Datuk Dr. Mohd. Arifin Datuk Mohd. Arif, who is also the Education Exco, the State Secretary, Datuk Seri Panglima Sr. Safar Untong, the Director General of the State Public Service, Datuk Zainudin Aman, the Director of the BKNS Division, Emas Sanjongan Datu Okardan, and members of the BKNS Committee.
Meanwhile, Hajiji also received a courtesy visit from the Director of the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (Maritime) for Sabah and the Federal Territory of Labuan, First Admiral Datuk Che Engku Suhaimi Che Engku Daik at his office.
