GUT 2024: Advancing Gastroenterology in Malaysia

KOTA KINABALU: The Annual Scientific Meeting of the Malaysian Society of Gastroenterology and Hepatology (GUT 2024) stands as a vital forum for the exchange of ideas, sharing of knowledge, and fostering policy discussions that are essential for enhancing the nation's healthcare system.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor stressed the significance of collaboration among all health stakeholders, emphasising that collective efforts are key to transforming healthcare for the betterment of Malaysia.
In his address delivered by Deputy Chief Minister II cum Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Dr Joachim Gunsalam, the Chief Minister praised the unwavering commitment of gastroenterologists to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of their field, particularly through engaging hands-on sessions and live demonstrations held during the workshop.
He said it was important to hold professional networking and access cutting-edge medical information, which is crucial for the gastroenterology community's growth.
He also stressed the necessity of translating technical advancements into actionable strategies that elevate patient care in gastroenterology. He acknowledged the contributions of endoscopic nurses and gastrointestinal assistants in delivering essential care to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures. He emphasized the need for ongoing training and development to cultivate talent within the medical profession.
GUT 2024 not only celebrates excellence but also plays a significant role in advancing the skills and knowledge of healthcare professionals.
