Hari Raya celebrated in Kundasang constituency

RANAU: A Hari Raya Riang Ria celebration was held at the community hall of Kampung Lobou Baru, recently.

The Deputy Chief Minister II and Member of the State Legislative Assembly (ADUN) for Kundasang, Datuk Seri Dr. Joachim Gunsalam, along with his wife, Datin Seri Linda Ewit, attended and officiated the event.

Dr. Joachim, who is also the Minister of Local Government and Housing, has received numerous invitations to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri with the community in the Kundasang constituency since the first day of Syawal up to the present.

“I would like to thank everyone who has invited me to join and celebrate Hari Raya here,” he stated.

Dr. Joachim remarked that this year’s Hari Raya celebrations were particularly lively and embraced by people from various backgrounds.

“In the state of Sabah, we celebrate a variety of festivals. Today, we are celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri, as well as other festivities such as Christmas and the Harvest Festival,” he said.

“That is the uniqueness of Sabah,” he added.

Also accompanying Dr. Joachim during this Aidilfitri visit were his Private Secretary, Japli Sami; Community Development Leader, Dounis Sani, along with staff from the Kundasang UPPM, as well as officers working with Dr. Joachim.

Following that, Dr. Joachim visited an elderly resident who is unwell and bedridden in Kampung Naradau before continuing the Hari Raya celebrations in Kampung Semuruh, Kampung Pinausuk, and Kampung Mesilou.
