KOTA BELUD: The Kadamaian Welfare Club continues to play a vital role in supporting the community through its I Care Kadamaian Programme. Earlier this week, the club delivered assistance to two individuals in need in Kadamaian, thanks to the corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts of the Bank Rakyat Foundation (YBR), an agency operating under the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (MEDC).
This initiative has garnered full support from Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick, highlighting the strong collaboration between charitable organizations, foundations, and local leaders dedicated to helping those in need.
Staff from the Kadamaian State Assembly Liaison Office, led by Shainim Epin, along with members of the Kadamaian Welfare Club, visited the home of the first recipient, Denny Kentuneh, in Kampung Tiong Komburaon, Kota Belud. Denny has been suffering from a growth on his back for the past five years and received a donation of an adjustable bed to enhance his daily comfort.
Shainim emphasised that this contribution aims to improve Denny's quality of life, particularly in light of his health challenges. “We hope this assistance can alleviate Denny's family's burden and provide them with some comfort in their daily lives,” he stated.
The second recipient, Douamin Leman, an elderly resident of Kampung Gendukut, also benefited from a donation of a walking aid to facilitate his mobility.
This initiative is part of the broader I Care Kadamaian Programme, which seeks to assist the less fortunate in the area. Through its partnership with YBR, the club can consistently fulfill its charitable mission, particularly in supporting health and community welfare.
According to Ewon, who serves as an advisor to the club, initiatives like this are critical expressions of corporate social responsibility that make a tangible difference in people's lives. “With strategic cooperation among government agencies, the private sector, and the community, we can reach and assist more individuals in need,” he remarked.
The Kadamaian Welfare Club in Kota Belud is dedicated to continuing similar initiatives in the future. With a commitment to an inclusive and community-focused approach, the club will remain a vital bridge between donors and recipients, fostering a spirit of generosity and support within the community.
