KOTA KINABALU: A total of two localities in Sabah will be placed under a 14-day enhanced movement control order (EMCO) starting this Friday (June 25).

Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Masidi Manjun said the localities involved are Kg Kukut in Beaufort and Kg Tambulion Ulu in Kota Belud.

"A total of 18 positive cases were detected in Kg Kukur out of 34 individuals screened.

"In Kg Tombulion Ulu, 10 individuals out of 29 who have undergone screening tested positive for Covid-19," he said in a statement today.

Masidi added the decision to impose EMCO on these localities was made so that targeted screening can be conducted towards the public in an effort to curb the spread of the virus to other communities.
