Malaysian team won bronze in 2024 China-ASEAN College Students' AI Application Innovation Invitation Competition

KUALA LUMPUR:  On 11 March 2024, the China-ASEAN College Students' AI Application Innovation Invitation Competition ended. The competition attracted 168 teams from 39 universities across seven countries: China, the United Kingdom, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Singapore.


The participating projects covered a wide array of fields, including smart agriculture, renewable energy, cross-border trade, AI-driven industrial design, AI-enhanced e-commerce, AI-supported cultural communication, and AI-integrated supply chain management, demonstrating an exceptional level of innovation and dynamism.


After a rigorous competition, the gold award was presented to the project "Smart Irrigation: Enabling Leaders in High-Standard Farmland" by the Runtian Zhixing team from Guangxi Finance Vocational College. The silver award was jointly awarded to "AI Empowers a New Chapter for Intangible Cultural Heritage," presented by the Al Empowers team from the Baikuyao Ethnic Group of Guangxi International Business Vocational College, and "SicnoMind," developed by the XiaoBao team from Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation.


The bronze awards were given to the following projects: "The Pioneer of ASEAN Fresh Produce Supply Chain Transformation Based on Federated Learning and Multimodal Transport Optimization" by the Cold Dome Federation team from the University of Malaya, "Algnite" by the Malaysia Al Trinity team from Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology, and "SmartLearn AI" by the SmartEd Pioneers team from Beijing Institute of Technology.


Additionally, the competition recognised three winners for the Most Creative Award and the Most Potential Award.


The event was jointly organised by Guangxi Finance Vocational College, Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology, and the China-Malaysia Institute of Modern Craftsmanship of the Digital Economy. It was hosted by Guangxi Tus Innovation Cross-Border E-Commerce Co., Ltd. and Brunsfield TusStar Sdn. Bhd. (TusStar Malaysia).


Looking ahead, both parties are committed to continuing to harness youth innovation as a cornerstone for development, facilitating technology sharing and industry upgrading, and collaboratively forging a new chapter in the evolution of the digital economy.
