Medical Bed Donation Benefits the Elderly

PENAMPANG: Yayasan Bank Rakyat (YBR) donated medical beds to two elderly recipients today. The beneficiaries of this generous contribution were Irene Panjangou @ Zalekha, an elderly woman from Kampung Kuai Kandazon, and Layvi Lojiun, who holds an Orang Kurang Upaya (OKU) card.

The handover was conducted by Bryan Matasing, the Chief Liaison Officer of the P. 174 Penampang Parliament Service Centre, accompanied by his staff members Roy Benedick Naintin, Belly Stephen Ajis, and Charles Liew.

The application for this assistance was submitted by Billy Jinawat, Chairman of the Moyog Community Welfare Association Penampang and Head of the KURAI Voting District Committee for the United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (UPKO).

In a statement, Billy Jinawat expressed his heartfelt gratitude, on behalf of the recipients’ families, to Yayasan Bank Rakyat, an agency under the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, led by its Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick, that was involved in this initiative.

He also expressed his appreciation for the trust placed in him to provide care and support for the village community, as mandated by UPKO President Datuk Ewon Benedick, UPKO Deputy President Datuk Donald Peter Mojuntin, and UPKO Penampang Youth Chief Billy Joe Dominic. He emphasised that the initiative will continue to flourish with the ongoing support of these three individuals.

The beds offer them greater comfort as they receive care at home and aiding in their recovery.
