MM2H to start with revised criteria

11 December 2024

KOTA KINABALU: The State Government will start its Sabah Malaysia My Second Home (Sabah MM2H) programme on December 12, featuring recently revised criteria.

This initiative falls under the jurisdiction of the State Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Environment (KePKAS).

In a press statement released on Wednesday, the Secretariat of the Sabah MM2H programme announced that the new criteria are designed to attract participants from all countries with diplomatic relations with Malaysia, offering various levels of financial commitments.

The Sabah MM2H programme introduces three application categories: Silver, Gold, and Platinum.

Participants will have the opportunity to reside in Sabah with multiple entry visas valid for a minimum of 5+5 years and can purchase property with a minimum investment of RM600,000.

Sabah is known for providing a safe and welcoming environment for people of all ages, boasting pleasant weather year-round and an affordable cost of living.

Participants in this programme may bring their dependents to Sabah, including spouses, children, parents, and parents-in-law. The yearly minimum stay requirement is 30 cumulative days, making the programme particularly appealing and accessible.

All details regarding the programme can be found on the dedicated website of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Environment.

Applications can be submitted through licensed agents for Sabah MM2H. The State Government has granted licenses to local companies that can assist applicants throughout the process.

The Secretariat expressed confidence that the Sabah MM2H programme will have a positive economic impact on the state.

"It is anticipated that the economic spin-off will benefit the local market. Many potential participants have already expressed their interest, and the government is committed to ensuring the programme’s success."
