MoU between BTC and SMJ for hardcore poor

KOTA KINABALU: The Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor, symbolically held a ground breaking ceremony at the Food Processing and New Bread Factory of BTC Group Berhad during his visit to the factory at Darul BTC Building, Jalan Tuaran Bypass, Inanam on Saturday.

He also witnessed the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between BTC Group and the Sabah Maju Jaya Secretariat (SMJ) for a rural industrial programme for the hardcore poor and a Letter of Intent (LoI) involving the Malaysian Construction Academy (ABM) Sabah Region and Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS).

The LoI between BTC and UMS involves the Faculty of Food Science and Nutrition as a strategic partner to assist in product development and research to enhance product quality, as well as providing opportunities for graduates to undergo practical training.

Meanwhile, the LoI with ABM will provide skilled and semi-skilled workers to BTC and enhance the skills of existing staff.
