Mutiara GRS Celebrates Schoolchildren in Conjunction with CNY

KOTA KINABALU: The Muafakat Titipan Amal Isteri Wakil Rakyat Organisation, Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (Mutiara GRS), celebrated 50 children as part of its Chinese New Year 2025 programme at the Putera Ballroom, Luyang on Tuesday.
The wife of the Chief Minister, Datin Seri Panglima Datuk Juliah Salag, who is also the President of Mutiara GRS, presented "goodie bags" and Angpow to children from five schools in the Kota Kinabalu area.
Juliah stated that the annual Mutiara GRS programme aims to support selected children from five primary and secondary schools in the region. The schools involved are Kota Kinabalu High School, St. Francis Convent, SJK Shan Tao, Chung Hwa Kota Kinabalu, and Anglo Chinese National School.
"Through this celebration, we hope to strengthen ties of goodwill and unity, while also bringing joy and festivity to these children during the Chinese New Year celebrations. Mutiara GRS has planned several initiatives to be implemented this year, including programmes to reach out to the people and women in selected State Assembly (DUN) areas," she said.
In addition to a meal, the children were entertained with a Lion Dance performance, children's games, and magic shows.
Also in attendance were the Vice President I of Mutiara GRS, Datin Seri Panglima Cecilia E. Kitingan, Vice President III/Honorary Secretary, Datin Dg. Siti Noor Hayyat Ag Mohd Saufi, the Executive Chairperson of the Mutiara GRS Chinese New Year celebration, Datin Seri Panglima Stella Yong, and members of the organisation.
