KOTA KINABALU: Various programmes benefiting the people at the grassroots level have been implemented over the past four years by the Muafakat Titipan Amal Isteri Wakil Rakyat Organisation, Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (MUTIARA GRS) in the state.
The wife of the Chief Minister and President of MUTIARA GRS, Datin Seri Panglima Datuk Juliah Salag, stated that the programmes include talks on health and entrepreneurship, particularly aimed at women, as well as charity and welfare activities.
"Over the four-year period leading up to 2024, numerous activities have been conducted involving more than 21 State Assembly (DUN) areas throughout the state to reach out to various segments of society, including those who are less fortunate.
"We have also collaborated with the National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN) Sabah to organise a variety of programmes, including talks on health and entrepreneurship.
"In this regard, I hope we will not only continue to assist the welfare of the people, particularly women in this state, but we also need to enhance our skills and seek new knowledge so as not to be left behind in the current wave of modernity," she said.
She made these remarks during the 4th Annual General Meeting of MUTIARA GRS for 2024 at the MUTIARA GRS House here on Saturday. She added that even more activities will be held in 2025 to reach out to more people in the state.
"During the month of Ramadan, we will organise a festive pastry packing activity to be distributed to security forces and healthcare workers in the state.
"At the same time, I also urge all MUTIARA GRS members to be more active in their respective areas to assist the people, especially those in need of help in their communities," she said.
