PENAMPANG: Linus Gokusing, a 46-year-old resident of Kg Kipandi Moyog, has made the decision to join the United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation(UPKO) Party, driven by his deep admiration for the leadership of UPKO President Datuk Ewon Benedick.
He is particularly impressed by Ewon's substantial contributions to the development and support offered to the Penampang Constituency, where Ewon proudly serves as the Member of Parliament.
Linus values Ewon's hands-on approach in aiding micro-entrepreneurs and promoting agricultural ventures. Given that his highland community is predominantly engaged in agriculture, he firmly believes that with appropriate assistance, these individuals have significant potential to succeed as entrepreneurs.
He recognises that Ewon’s well-known commitment to supporting the grassroots population can empower residents to realise their full capabilities and aspirations.
In light of this, Linus is excited about the newly formed UPKO branch in his area, which was officially accepted into UPKO’s fold today.
This branch encompasses the regions of Nogukas, Togudon, Kipandi, and Mogkusilad, but they have chosen to adopt “Kipandi” as the name for the new branch.
Currently, they have 105 active UPKO members, but Linus anticipates that this number will grow, as many membership application forms are still pending submission.
He expresses confidence that more individuals will be inspired to join the party, motivated by Ewon’s impactful leadership and the promises of support and development it offers to their community.
Linus was present at the UPKO function at Dewan Gawir, Kg Madsiang where the UPKO President was present to welcome new members and spoke on UPKO struggles and aspirations.
