KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Pakatan Harapan (PH) state assemblymen do not agree with the dissolution of the state assembly should the state continues to be in political turmoil and the status of the state assembly remain hung (Hung State Assembly).
This was stated in a joint statement today by seven of the PH state representatives, namely Datuk Christina Liew (Api-Api), Datuk Frankie Poon Ming Fung (Tanjung Papat), Datuk Ewon Benedick (Kadamaian), Phoong Jin Zhe (Luyang), Jannie Lasimbang (Kapayan), Tan Lee Fatt (Likas) and Peto Galim (Inanam).
The reps collectively reiterated their stand of not supporting any effort to overthrow the government through “backdoor” approach.
“We feel very saddened to see that Sabah is once again facing with a political crisis that shouldn’t happen in the first place.
“Our main focus should be to ensure that our goal to help the people and develop the economy as well as to work together so that the MA63 can be realised in accordance the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s desire,” they said.
Hence, all of the assemblymen stated their support to the current Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, who is also the Sulaman state assemblyman.
“This is in line with our principal, which is to ensure that the political stability remains strong in Sabah and not be involved in ‘Sheraton moves’.
“Following this support, we have agreed that a Unity Government in Sabah can be formed as is the practice at the federal level.
“We pray that the political turmoil will end soon and the wellbeing of the Sabah people continues to be defended with this support.”
