KOTA KINABALU: Branches of big trees at Tuaran Road which could endanger road users were trimmed down by Kota Kinabalu City Hall after various complaints were made by the public.

The dense branches of the big trees at Tuaran Road near the Government Printing Department were leaning on the road and public complaints were heard by Likas Assemblyman Tan Lee Fatt.

Tan personally informed Dewan Bandaraya Kota Kinabalu (DBKK) about it and personnel were then dispatched to trim the big branches.

"Whenever there is strong wind or rain, the tree or branches would fall and could easily cause injuries to passing vehicles and pedestrians.

"In order to avoid potential danger of falling branches and ensure the safety of the public," he said in a statement here, today.

As for the rapid response of DBKK, Tan expressed his gratitude and praised the authorities for putting people's lives and safety as first priority.

"For any inquiry or complaint, the public can call my office 088 712867 (Zeti) or Sunny Tan 0198533683."
