Phoong stands in solidarity with Syed Saddiq

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Former Youth and Sports Minister Phoong Jin Zhe has expressed moral support towards the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (MUDA) president Syed Saddiq in his fight against Perikatan Nasional (PN).
Saddiq was charged in court yesterday for two counts of criminal breach of trust (CBT) and misappropriation of over RM1.2 million from his former political party's youth wing, Armada Bersatu. He pleaded guilty to both charges.
"I have worked closely with him during our tenure as Youth and Sports Ministers from the federal and state level.
"He was the youngest ever minister in Malaysia's history but he proved his capability and leadership in office. Age does not and should never define one's abilities," he said in his Facebook posting.
"He was one of the most hardworking ministers I have ever seen with my own eyes."
According to Phoong, both of them as young politicians share a common vision which is to continue embracing diversity and multiculturalism in Sabah, and Malaysia as a whole.
Unity in diversity is our most valuable asset, he added.
"You will never stand alone, Saddiq! We are with you in this fight and soldier on! Berani kerana benar, tetap #LAWAN!" he stated.
