KOTA KINABALU: Nowa Itaka, a Polish travel company and one of Central Europe's largest tour operators, has announced the expansion of its tour packages to include Sabah and Sarawak, says Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Dato’ Seri Tiong King Sing.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Tiong stated that this development follows Nowa Itaka’s successful launch of its first charter flight from Poland to Langkawi last October, which was originally scheduled to operate until March this year.

“However, I have been informed that they will resume operation from October this year until March next year, and this time, their tour will include Sabah and Sarawak for 12 days,” he said.

He said this was part of an effort to attract more European tourists to Malaysia and affirmed the ministry’s full support in line with this positive development.

“I welcome this collaboration and will ensure that my ministry provides the necessary support so that more attractive packages can be offered.”

“Additionally, we are also ready to fill the gap between April and September with various tourism products and promotions,” he said.
