KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah State Health Department (JKNS) responded to complaints pertaining to the condition of the parking area at Queen Elizabeth II Hospital (HQE II).

This area frequently experiences flooding and potholes, causing difficulties for patients, visitors, and hospital staff.

A statement released by Dr. Maria Suleiman, Director of Health Sabah this parking area is owned by Qhazanah Sabah Berhad and has been generously loaned for public use.

"The borrowed site can accommodate approximately 300 vehicles and is often used by staff, visitors, and patients of HQE II as an alternative due to the limited parking available at the hospital. "

"However, the recent unpredictable weather has led to issues with standing water and potholes in the parking area, thereby affecting the comfort of its users."

She said JKNS and the hospital understand these difficulties and are actively seeking solutions.

"Discussions with local leaders and stakeholders have been held to formulate more effective improvement measures, including the potential expansion and repair of the parking area to enhance accessibility for patients, visitors, and hospital staff."

JKNS welcomes the cooperation of all parties, including local leaders and relevant authorities, in finding the best solutions for the well-being of patients and hospital users.

"We appreciate the patience and support of the public and will continue to strive to improve the existing facilities."
