KOTA KINABALU: A renowned professor Dr Mohd. Tajuddin Bin Mohd. Rasdi is set to launch his latest book, "Resetting Malaysia," in Kota Kinabalu on March 20th.
The author stated that he has chosen KK to launch his latest book in view of the increasingly important roles of Sabah and Sarawak in shaping the future of Malaysia.
The book launch event is organised by SABAR (Sabah Action Body Advocating Rights) and will take place from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm, at the Tanjung Aru State Library, 5th Floor Multi-Purpose Room.
The event is free and open to the public, but due to limited capacity, registration is required. Interested attendees can register via WhatsApp at 0178120688 or online on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Tajuddin is a well-known writer and speaker on various topics, including architecture, politics, social issues, religious matters, and education.
He has authored and published 52 books to date, winning four National Book awards.
His latest book, "Resetting Malaysia," is a collection of original draft articles written for The Star newspaper, in which he presents ideas and suggestions on how each citizen can contribute to changing the country into something that respects the faith, culture, and lifestyle of all.
The main intention of Tajuddin's new book is to reset Malaysia into what we, the citizens of this beloved country, want for all the people.
According to the author, the book is divided into three parts on Education, Faith, and Society. The Education section discusses how schools and universities impart an imitative and uncritical box of knowledge and practices, offering suggestions on thinking differently to initiate change.
The Faith section explores how real spirituality can fuel change in individuals, which can eventually impact politics, economics, and education. Finally, the Society section focuses on instilling change within the broader framework of the family.
The book launch event will provide attendees with the opportunity to engage with Tajuddin and gain insights into the book's themes and recommendations. Signed copies of the book will be available for purchase, and attendees can network with others interested in resetting Malaysia.
