PENAMPANG: An allocation of RM10,000 were accorded to four primary schools respectively in the rural area here, yesterday.

The schools comprised of SK Babagon, SK.Kipovo, SK. Moyog and SK. Tampasak Togudon recieved the funds which will go towards programmes to prepare pupils for their Primary Six examinations and excel enough to be entered into Maktab Rendah Sains Mara (MRSM).

The Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Coporative Datuk Ewon Benedick in disbursing the funds said he wished to see pupils from rural areas make it into MRSM.

Speaking to reporters after inaugurating 'Jom Masuk MRSM' programme at SK. Tampasak Togudon he said he supported and advocate for providing more opportunities for pupils, particularly those from rural schools, to access MRSM.

"It is important for these pupils to understand and meet the criteria and requirements set by MRSM. I believe such programmes can offer valuable early exposure to help them to prepare for admission to MRSM," Ewon who is also the Penampang Member of Parliament said.

He said his allocation of RM10,000 to each of the 4 schools involved intended to encourage and motivate Primary Six pupils in these schools to adequately prepare for the examinations and tests necessary for admission to MRSM, with the ultimate goal of securing admission from these schools.

Meanwhile, MRSM Kota Kinabalu signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SK. Tampasak Togudon of smart partnership.

Principal Amiruddin Ahmad Ghazali stated that the MoU requires them to collaborate and provide students with an understanding of MRSM's culture.

"We aim to use this programme to inspire parents to support their children in pursuing education at MRSM," he expressed.

He mentioned that they will regularly convene to engage with students and discuss various aspects of MRSM.
