Out of this amount, RM2 million is for business development programs and RM500,000 is for the Angkasa Education Fund.
Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (MEDC) Datuk Ewon Benedick presented a mock check to the President of the National Cooperative Movement of Malaysia Berhad (ANGKASA) Datuk Seri Dr. Abdul Fattah Abdullah, in a brief ceremony before the Malaysian Cooperative Congress 2024 briefing, at the MEDC Operations Room, here, yesterday.
Ewon said that the allocation of RM2 million is to assist cooperatives in developing businesses and expanding business networks.
Furthermore, he said, the funds also aim to market products online or physically for domestic and international markets.
"I hope that the cooperative business development program through ANGKASA can help obtain halal certification and other development programs such as business empowerment, cooperative business intervention, and cooperative digitalization," he said in a media statement.
Ewon said that for the ANGKASA Education Fund (TAPAK), it aims to provide facilities to build and enhance the education level of the cooperative community.
"Education financing facilities can be changed and are provided to cooperative members, children of cooperative members, and cooperative staff pursuing Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degrees within the country.
"This fund of RM500,000 will benefit 141 students in Public and Private Higher Education Institutions," he said.
