PENAMPANG: Residents were shocked by a landslide close to the highway early this morning.

In this incident, the residents and road users who travel along this route for their daily activities feel extremely concerned about this matter.

According to Georgina George Jinawat, a landowner in the area below the road, she and her husband are worried and have suffered losses as their fence, goat pen, and goose pen have collapsed, and the pipes laid for connecting the water supply to their house and their family’s house were dislodged due to the landslide that occurred early in the morning.

According to the Chairman of the Moyog Penampang Community Welfare Association, Billy Jinawat, when contacted, he expressed great concern over this matter, especially for the road users traveling on this road, including himself and his family who use this road daily for their activities.

He is requesting that the relevant authorities find the best solution to address this issue for their safety as citizens and users of this road

Installing gabions or whatever is suitable for the repair of this road is essential for the safety of all residents and road users.

"Because we are citizens, we appeal to the relevant authorities to fulfill their responsibilities regarding this matter, especially concerning safety issues," he said.

Yesterday he had also mentioned that the condition of the road at Kg Botung Kandazon and Kg Duvanson is a significant concern for road users due to its poor state.

Residents have been eagerly awaiting its completion, as they rely on this road daily for various activities, including commuting to work and picking up children from school. However, the road's unfavourable condition has prompted users to voice their concerns about its safety.

“Many drivers have experienced breakdowns due to this road. Numerous individuals have approached me to express their complaints, urging me to raise this issue. Just yesterday, I encountered a problem myself—I ripped my car tire,” shared Billy.
