Sabah, Sarawak MPs attend special briefing on 35 pct parliamentary seat allocation to East Malaysia

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah and Sarawak Members of Parliament (MP) attended a special briefing over lunch break on the proposal to return the 35 per cent parliamentary seat allocation to East Malaysia, at the Main Block of the Parliament building on Tuesday.


It was conducted by Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Sabah and Sarawak Affairs), Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili.


The MPs welcomed the idea of forming a Borneo Caucus to cooperate politically and have a single voice to support and strengthen the Malaysia Agreement 1963 MA63), and the incoming Prime Minister of the day.


Among those who attended were Putatan MP Awang Husaini Sahari (PKR), Tawau MP Datuk

Christina Liew (PKR), Selangau MP Baru Bian (Parti Sarawak Bersatu), Miri MP Dr Michael Teo Yu Keng (PKR) and Tuaran MP Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau (Upko).
