Sabahan entrepreneurs get a boost with opening of IKS Mart in KK

KOTA KINABALU: Sabahan products took centre stage yesterday at the grand opening of IKS Mart owned by Dusina Sdn Bhd in Oceanus Shopping Mall, here.

The event was officiated by Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Phoong Jin Zhe who was keen to promote and support local entrepreneurs. He commended the owners of IKS Mart for their initiative in showcasing Sabahan products.

In a Facebook post, he said it is important to support local entrepreneurs to aid them improve their competitiveness in the marketplace.

“We should encourage Sabahan entrepreneurs to strive for higher levels of quality in their packaging and explore investment and marketing opportunities in line with international entrepreneurs.

“Let us prioritise locally-made products and support our own industry,” he said, urging the public to support local industries by purchasing Sabahan products.

Phoong also mentioned that the new IKS Mart outlet will be a platform for Sabahan entrepreneurs to showcase their products to a wider audience.

He said this move will give the entrepreneurs a much-needed boost in the local market, which has been severely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
