Sabin is KK’s new Mayor

KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor presented the appointment letter to Dato’ Sri Dr Sabin Samitah as the new Mayor of Kota Kinabalu City, today.

Dr Sabin, 63, hails from Ranau and replaced Datuk Noorliza Awang Alip as the seventh Mayor since Kota Kinabalu was elevated to a city 23 years ago.

Prior to his appointment as the Mayor of Kota Kinabalu City, Dato’ Sri Dr Sabin Samitah served as the Director-General of the National Anti-Financial Crime Centre in the Prime Minister’s Department He also held the position of Chief Executive Officer of the Inland Revenue Board.

The brief ceremony for the appointment of Dato’ Sri Dr Sabin Samitah as the new Mayor of Kota Kinabalu City was attended by Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe, Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister Datuk Abidin Madingkir, and State Secretary Datuk Seri Panglima Sr Safar Untong.
