KOTA BELUD: The Sentuhan Kasih contribution initiative is set to bring a positive impact to grassroots administrative efforts involving Village Development and Security Committees (JKKKs) and Christian places of worship across the Kadamaian state constituency.
A total of RM295,000 was distributed to 73 JKKKs and 149 Christian churches throughout Kadamaian by the State Assemblyman for Kadamaian, Datuk Ewon Benedick, during a handover ceremony held last Sunday.
Each JKKK received RM2,000, intended to support activities such as community clean-ups (gotong-royong) and festive celebrations, including the upcoming Kaamatan Festival. Meanwhile, each church was allocated RM 1,000 to assist in organising Easter events or other religious programmes.
Ewon emphasised that the programme is part of his ongoing efforts to ensure the fundamental needs of community administration and religious institutions are not overlooked.

Several recipients expressed their gratitude, describing the assistance as timely and highly beneficial.
“This contribution is very meaningful to us, as it will support the implementation of village activities we have planned. It also reflects Ewon’s leadership and attentiveness to grassroots needs,” said Hildawati Sikul, Chairperson of JKKK Kampung Tombulion Ulu.
Representative of SIB Sayap Church, Alip Kundangau, noted that the contribution would help enhance administrative and management aspects of church operations, as well as preparations for this week’s Easter celebration.
“We in Kg Pinolobu greatly appreciate this assistance. The funds will be used for a gotong-royong programme and Kaamatan preparations, which will also help strengthen community bonds,” said Jalni Mison, Chairperson of the village's JKKK.
Stephen Renged, a representative from SIB Bundu Paka, also welcomed the initiative, stating that the contribution would benefit their church’s administrative affairs and activity planning.
The Sentuhan Kasih initiative is viewed as an effective approach to strengthening both community and religious institutions while also demonstrating Datuk Ewon’s continued commitment to the inclusive development of Kadamaian.
