SMART Geo Sabah by the Sabah Lands and Surveys Department

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Lands and Surveys Department proudly unveiled their latest innovation, “SMART Geo Sabah” recently.

This makes Sabah the first state government in Malaysia to harness such advanced technology, setting a new standard for digital innovation in public services.

The innovation integrates Generative-AI with advanced geospatial technologies to allow users to find and locate land information through conversational interactions in either Malay, English, or Chinese.

It was soft launched during a ceremony graced by the Chief Minister of Sabah, Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor, recently.

With SMART Geo Sabah, our aim is to centralize all land information, intelligence and insights within a single, easily accessible platform.

The integration of Generative AI with geospatial technology in SMART Geo Sabah represents a significant milestone in our efforts.

This groundbreaking initiative is crafted to streamline the data discovery and utilization process for various stakeholders, including government agencies, businesses, and individuals, enabling them to access the required information more efficiently.

SMART Geo Sabah is positioned to emerge as an essential tool bridging technology and land management, fostering a well-connected and well-informed community in Sabah.

The development of SMART Geo Sabah underscores the Sabah Lands and Surveys Department's dedication to innovation and excellence.

The beta version of SMART Geo Sabah is presently available within the Department for pre-release testing and refinement. We plan to launch the final version of SMART Geo Sabah for public use by mid-2025.
