UMS Director of Instrumentation and Science Service Centre, Associate Professor Dr. Zaleha A. Aziz said, the face shields were for the teachers and the 2021 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) candidates who are currently undergoing face-to-face teaching and learning sessions.

"The contribution is one of UMS' effort to help curb the spread of Covid-19 among the community, including within school compounds so that the safety aspects of teachers and students can be improved.

"It is hoped that this donation can benefit SMK St. Mary Limbahau and facilitate the face-to-face teaching and learning sessions," she said.

According to Zaleha, UMS Covi-Pro is a joint innovation by a group of researchers led by Prof. Dr. How Siew Eng from the Faculty of Science and Natural Resources and Dr. Choong Dr Chong Wai Hen from the Faculty of Engineering, and UMS volunteers initiated in early March, last year.
