Spirit of giving embodied in Ramadan Gathering

20 March 2025
KOTA KINABALU: The spirit of giving was beautifully exemplified at a special buka puasa event organised by the Rotary Club of Kota Kinabalu Pearl (RCKK Pearl), under the leadership of President Chendramata Sinteh, and co-hosted by Datuk Hajjah Rosmawati Hj Lasuki, CEO of the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC).
Together, they welcomed 17 children from Rumah Amal Kasih, an orphanage in Taman Kingfisher, for a heartwarming Ramadan gathering at SICC’s grand Ramadan buffet.
RCKK Pearl has a longstanding tradition of celebrating festive occasions such as Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Christmas with children from selected orphanages.
This year, the Club chose to extend its generosity to Rumah Amal Kasih, providing the children with an unforgettable evening.
A special note of gratitude is owed to Datuk Rosmawati Lasuki and the SICC team for their kindness in hosting this meaningful event.
The evening was made possible through the dedicated efforts of RCKK Pearl’s Community Service Director, Datin Jeanette Tambakau, alongside Club President Chendramata Sinteh and Project REAL Chair Tulip Noorazyze, who played a crucial role in connecting the Club with the orphanage.
The 17 children, accompanied by their Co-Founder and Principal, Jamrie Saparih, and two teachers, were treated to a magical experience. Their excitement was palpable as they entered the beautifully decorated SICC halls, adorned with Islamic themes in honour of Ramadan Kareem. The buffet, featuring an astonishing 850 dishes, left everyone spoilt for choice!
This event served as a powerful reminder of the importance of giving back to the community, particularly to underprivileged children.
By sharing moments of joy, generosity, and care, RCKK Pearl hopes to inspire these young hearts to believe in a brighter future—one where kindness and compassion continue to thrive.
