STRONG QUAKE ROCKS RUSSIA-MONGOLIA BORDER REGION

KUALA LUMPUR: A strong earthquake, measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale hit the Russia-Mongolia Border Region at 5.32 am today (Malaysian time).
The Malaysian Meteorological Department, in a statement here said that the quake occurred 730 km southeast of Krasnoyarsk, Russia, at a depth of 10 km.
However, the quake did not pose any tsunami threat to Malaysia, it added. -Bernama
