tHIS ASEAN to showcase latest innovations in medical technology

KUALA LUMPUR: The Health Industry Series (tHIS ASEAN) 2025, one of the largest medical and healthcare exhibitions in the ASEAN region, is scheduled to take place from 9 to 11 June at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in Malaysia.

Covering more than 5,000 square metres, the event will feature over 200 leading companies showcasing the latest innovations in medical technology to more than 5,000 healthcare professionals from Southeast Asia.

tHIS ASEAN 2025, organised by Reed Sinopharm Exhibitions, will coincide with the Association of Private Hospitals of Malaysia (APHM)'s annual conference and exhibition, facilitating resource sharing and attracting a diverse audience, including hospital procurement managers and distributors.

Established in 1972, APHM represents over 77% of Malaysia's private healthcare sector. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the industry's development within Southeast Asia and is expected to draw government officials, representatives from medical associations, and other key stakeholders from across the region.

As an extension of CMEF, PHARMCHINA, CRS, CHCC, and ICMD, the event aims to provide a comprehensive platform for medical innovation. In today's market, a growing range of innovative drugs, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), over-the-counter medications, health supplements, medical devices, and personal care products are gaining traction on the global stage.

"Chinese medical devices are highly sought after in Malaysia due to their excellent performance, quality, and cost-effectiveness," remarked Datuk Dr Kuljit Singh, President of APHM. "This collaboration represents the first significant collective presence of Chinese medical device companies in Malaysia, offering local healthcare institutions a better understanding of these products and providing a platform for Chinese firms to expand their global markets."

The demand for innovative medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and treatments in ASEAN is on the rise. Among the key advancements are remote surgery capabilities with next-generation multi-port endoscopic surgical robots that can perform complex level-4 procedures, reflecting a major leap in surgical precision and efficiency.

AI-powered assistants, such as the uAI Avatar, enhance healthcare by interacting with doctors, assisting in equipment operation, and retrieving critical information, thereby boosting efficiency and accuracy while helping shape the future of healthcare. In rehabilitation, a lower limb exoskeleton robot incorporating bionic and ergonomic design serves as an external support system, aiding in weight support and providing powered assistance to enhance recovery of limb and motor function.

Furthermore, the latest nurse call systems feature efficient response mechanisms and user-friendly designs beneficial for both medical staff and patients, ensuring timely medical support and significantly improving healthcare providers' efficiency in delivering care.

The event will also host several highlights, including professional forums featuring five insightful conferences on medical innovation trends, which cover AI-powered technologies, future pharmaceutical innovations, the hospital of the future, rehabilitation and elderly care in ASEAN, and healthcare regulation in the region.

Additionally, there will be one-on-one business matching sessions, which will facilitate tailored meetings connecting Chinese exhibitors with ASEAN buyers for optimum resource alignment, as well as a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) experience with live demonstrations and interactive activities showcasing TCM techniques and devices.
